I love it. It contains a great number of my favorites.

It's an extremely awesome list. I especially love the out of place inclusion of Fight Club.

Fight Club is just one of those movies I loved from the beginning, never get tired of, and have a hard time finding flaws with it. A near perfect film, IMO.

Yeah, hahaha, when it first came out, and I saw it in the theater, it was NOTHING like I expected, and I was totally fuckin flabberghasted. I championed it for the remainder of my high school years.

Wow, I'd have loved to see it in the cinema. I am having a chance to see my favourite film in the cinema on Monday.

Yeah, seeing it in the theater at age 6 may not have had the same impact on you though. I always forget I'm older than most people on the other forum.

King Kong (2005) sucks ass. What the Lucifer's lingonberries are they trying to pull on me? The monkey falls in love with the girl. That's QRACY (notice the Q there). What was up with that subplot with the captain and the kid? That whole thing was a bit gay too.

So the fact that the monkey was 25 feet tall and lived on an island still inhabited by dinosaurs and carniverous oversized insects was perfectly realistic to you, but the fact that the monkey may have emotions was not? Surely you jest.
And why would you try to discredit a film for a sub-plot that takes mere minutes, and then refer to it as "gay"? Your credibility dwindles when you use "gay" as a description for something not involving actual homosexuality.

It was unrealistic, yes, along with a monkey falling in love with Naomi Watts. I can handle crazyass giant monkeys destroying New York but the fact that he does it because he's in love with some human chick is annoying. Why can't he do it because he's got sand in the vagina like Godzilla?

It was merely an observation.

I think gay is a colourful word. I used it in my last post to indicate something negative in King Kong. Why my credibility would dwindle because I choose to use the more colourful 'gay' instead of 'bad' is beyond me.

Because you are equating "gay" with "bad" and expecting your criticism to be valid. When you display a low IQ with descriptors like "gay", whether you find it to be "colorful" or not, it hurts your credibility. "Gay" as a synonym for "bad" or "unsatisfactory" is bush league, and takes the mentality of a 12 year old. Judging by your past posts, you're better than that.

I find the 2005 version of King Kong to be a flawed masterpiece. One of the greatest remakes of all time.

That's funny. I have no problem with the word "gay" and pretty much no problem with the word "nigger" when it isn't a blanket word. I have a problem with people who overuse the word "gay" or simply use it when they have no valid criticism, so they just dub something "gay". As I said, if you want to continue selling yourself short and making yourself look like a fool, continue. I'm all for personal choice and free will. I simply won't view your criticisms as valid, anymore than I would that of a twelve year old, since it's obvious you share the same mentality.

I have many gay friends I refer to as such, and I've called black people niggers before. But I don't use either as a misplaced descriptor. It isn;t the word I find "taboo", it's the flagrent misuse.

I'm not guilty of the former so I guess you're applying the latter to me. First we have to define criticism... I do not consider what I write concerning movies on this site as criticism/detailed examination. My stuff is mere observations.

Now, with King Kong I shared two observations. One was that I disliked the monkey-falling-in-love-with-the-chick thingy, and the other was the sub-plot with the captain and the junior bopper. I think Mulholland Drive deserves at least a 3/10 for the lesbian scenes.

A 0/10 for Lord of the Rings is ridiculous. Maybe you find it an overlong bore, but the cinematography is some of the most remarkable of the decade and the visual effects certainly deserve some praise. I'm not a fan of the films either, but I can still admit that it has a lot of aspects going for it.

And Mitch, LOTR is my least favourite film, I'm not being objective, otherwise I'd give the film a 3 or 4/10.
