| Hey, you should move this into the favorite director's list thread we've already started. | |

| Oh, I naturally assumed we were posting individual lists for our favorites (just like with movies). I thought that's why the topic of Jack's read "My Top 25 Directors." | |

| (That wasn't the idea of my thread Trevor) 1. Joel Coen - 10.0 He rules. 2. Michael Mann - 10.0 So does he. 3. David Fincher - 10.0 It doesn't stop. 4. Sergio Leone - 10.0 5. Judd Apatow - 7.5 Based on one film though. Interesting choice. 6. Paul Thomas Anderson - 10.0 Back again . 7. John McTiernan - 8.5 Interesting again. 8. Martin Scorsese - 10.0 9. Luc Besson - 7.0 Based on one film. What else have you seen from him apart from Leon? 10. David Cronenberg - 9.5 Prince of weird. See more Lynch. | |

| I've seen The Fifth Element from Luc Besson. Just as fine as Leon. Both are in my top 50. As for Judd Apatow, you need to a) see Knocked Up
b) see Freaks And Geeks and
c) see Undeclared.
John McTiernan is a little iffy. He's made a lot of trash. But he also directed my favorite film of all time.

He did that? Ew. Drags his rating down. 5.0. - Quote :

What else did he do apart from Die Hard 1 and 3?

| Off the top of my head, the remake of Rollerball, The Hunt For Red October, Predator. Haven't seen THFRO, Rollerball is trash beyond trash, and Predator is a very good action film. | |

| John McTiernan also did one of the best serial killer movies ever, Henry: Portrait Of A Serial Killer. | |

| A very great list, as always. Some of them are pretty hit or miss for me (Coen, primarily) but there isn't anyone I despise, like on most lists. I'm not a fan of Leone though. His films are far too dull and unengaging for my taste. But yeah, definitely a great list. Glad to see Apatow and Cronenberg on there. Honesty shines through. | |

| Thank you, Mitch. Leone always draws me in with his beautiful cinematography and epic plotlines. Can't get enough of his westerns. Although I'm not too big a fan of Once Upon A Time In America anymore. It blew me away when I first saw it, but after thinking about it, there was nothing I recall liking about it. | |

| I like the list. Though, I've only seen films from the following and most of them 2 or less. Still, it's a good list.
1. Joel Coen: Fargo (9/10) Intolerable Cruelty (3/10) 3. David Fincher: Zodiac, Fight Club, and Se7en (10/10) 5. Judd Apatow: Knocked Up (9/10) 6. Paul Thomas Anderson: Magnolia (10/10) Punch-Drunk Love (9.5/10) 8. Martin Scorsese: Taxi Driver (10/10) Goodfellas (9.5/10) Raging Bull (8.5/10) The Departed (8/10) Cape Fear (5/10)

| You've only seen one Coen? Wow. Get your hands on them right away.
Start with their earliest work and go forward (Blood Simple, Raising Arizona, Miller's Crossing).
I don't see you liking The Big Lebowski (although we may be surprised).
